Senior Paster

Jim Jones

Pastor Jim has been our pastor since 2011.  He is an ordained elder in full connection in the North Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.  He is committed to serving the rural church and was awarded a Rural Ministries Fellowship by the Duke Endowment while he pursued his masters of divinity at Duke Divinity School.

Before entering the ministry full-time, Jim was a regional sales representative selling products for medical research for six years.  He also founded and managed a successful rental equipment business in Siler City, NC for 13 years.

Jim is a North Carolina native born on base at Camp Lejeune.  He has lived in Jacksonville, Gastonia, Greenville, Wilmington, and Chapel Hill.  Jim graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Zoology and remains a loyal Tarheel fan.

Jim enjoys meeting new people and strengthening relationships with those he already knows.  He works across denominational, socioeconomic, and racial lines as he believes in being in ministry to all God's children.  He also enjoys working in his yard and spending time in his kayak and sailboat, preferably offshore.
